Anita Laninga-Sabo

Forty-one-year-old Anita Laninga-Sabo was encouraged by her husband, Don, to pick something she would like to do. Weight training had always interested her, so she went on the Internet and looked at weight-training Web sites. "One On One impressed me," she says.

Anita came in for a consultation and hasn't looked back since. "I look and feel way better than when I was in my twenties. I love it!"

Always up for a challenge, Anita entered a bathing suit competition. "One On One worked with me and we did it." Entering a competition before turning forty was a long-standing goal. Although she did not win, just entering the competition was a personal triumph for Anita. "I did it because I showed other ladies that it does not matter what age you are. You can do anything you put your mind to."

To make her workouts a priority, she changed her morning routine. Anita gets up at 4:30 a.m. and works out. "People need coffee in the morning; I need exercise." It is hard, but early morning cardiovascular workouts allow her to spend more time with her family, which is worth it.

After the contest, Anita was motivated to keep up with her weight training. The results have paid off. Her friends have noticed changes in her body. "It is cool to look in the mirror and say, is that really me?"

In May 2007, Anita is planning to enter a Fitness Model contest. "I am excited because it gives me something to work towards." Anita does her cardio sessions six to seven days a week and weighttrains four times a week.

For those who might feel frustrated with their exercise results, Anita says, "Never give up. I really believe nutrition is a big part of it. Eat breakfast! I thought I ate healthily, but after working with Doug and Sandra, I have been taken to another level. I eat more now, and I am leaner now at forty-one than I was at thirty-eight."

She adds, "If I could tell younger people one thing, it would be to take care of yourself every day and get into a routine of physical activity and eating properly. It is amazing how it pays off as you get older!"

We couldn't have said it better.

Karla Laing knew something was wrong. “I have always been intuitive about my body but thought that the exhaustion I was feeling was a product of being a busy mother of a newborn and toddler.”
