Fit 40+ and Fabulous

Dear Sandra & Doug,

I want to say a huge THANK YOU for all of the help you have given me. You have not only helped me change my physique, but you have helped me change my thinking too. You are both amazing at what you do and I am so thankful that I read the article on Fit 40 + you did in September of 2009.

It has changed my life! I feel more energetic, happier and confident in who I am because I feel that I am in control of my life for the first time. I only wish I had met you 20 years ago!!
See you soon,

Jackie W.

Hi Sandra,

Just had to drop you a short note and thank you for setting up the Fit 40 class. I never thought I would get to this stage of fitness in such a short period of time. I also never thought I'd be lifting the kinds of weight I am now. My biggest thrill was today when shopping with my daughter and finding out I was the same size as her
.

In January, I was wearing a size 12. Image my surprise today (sent July 09) to be walking out of the store in a size 6 dress. I still have a ways to go in lowering my body fat, but it is a lot easier to do when seeing how far I have come in such a short period of time. Look forward to the next check-in with you.

What keeps so many of us on the sidelines? Why is it ok for other people to get fit and not us? How do we hold ourselves back from developing our fittest and healthiest bodies? As children, we spent countless hours in the school yard jumping, throwing balls, skipping and being physical. As we proceed through high school and beyond, physical activity becomes less and less a part of our lives. We become weighed down with the stresses of making a living. We eat on the run and struggle with the ensuing pounds.

There’s a myth out there that once you’re in your forties that you’re done. We are considered to be too old or over the hill. The option is to give up on ever thinking you can be sexy again. Those people have a lot to learn about what a woman’s body is capable of. In fact, most women don’t know how fit they really could be.

Fitness transcends the gym. Fitness helps us to increase our strength, improve our energy, maintains our muscle tone and delays the ravages of ageing. Fifty per cent of Canadians will do cardio as their sole form of exercise.

What they fail to realize, is that it does not stop the loss of muscle that comes with ageing. We need to pump iron. What’s the good news? Within two months you can reverse two decades of muscle loss and recoup up to forty per cent of your strength.

If you can remember leg warmers, head bands, and that Jane Fonda used to be a fitness guru, then you’re a part of the market that I want to reach. Many of us plus-forty ladies have given up on ourselves. The top two questions that women ask me at One On One are, “Am I your worst client?” and “Is it too late for me?” This ten-week series will address nutrition, grocery shopping, body-fat testing, pumping iron, and more. If you’ve let yourself go, this series will help you to find your way back.

Fit 40+ and Fabulous includes:

  • 2 body fat tests: One at the start of the program and one at the end to gauge your progress.

  • A 1 .5 hour hands on session per week for 10 weeks that will teach you proper technique, enhance your learning and open you up to new ways of approaching your health and fitness.

  • Homework: Yes, there will be homework. We design your weight training plan.

  • Cardio: You will be provided with a cardio plan (you can walk, use a treadmill, elliptical or bike). Cardio is crucial to burn calories and decrease fat.

  • Grocery shopping savvy: We’ll go beyond the label and address what to buy when you’re in the store.

  • Nutrition guidance: Our sessions are based on the principles of balance, variety and moderation. To be healthy, we need protein, grains, some fats, fruits, vegetables and room for indulgence. Combine your exercise habits with sound nutrition for optimal results.

  • Last but definitely not least: Motivation to the max: You’ve got Sandra AND Doug Bueckert to challenge, encourage and support you!
Space is limited. Hopefully you can attend!!

Fit, Forty and Fabulous Fee: $750.00 for 12 - 75 minute group training sessions.

Note: If you choose to enter the Lean & Mean Challenge add $100.00 ($25.00 savings) to the above fee. If don't have a partner, we can pair you up in class. Your entry includes a before and after photo, 2 body fat assessments, nutrition information, a Lean and Mean T-shirt, and our wrap up function.

Current dates:

Mondays: January 11, 18, 25, Feb 1, 8, 15, 22, March 1, 8, 15, 22 , 29

Wednesdays: January 13, 20, 27, Feb 3, 10, 17, 24, March 3, 10, 17, 24, 31

Current Times: 7:15 - 8:30PM

Fit 40+ clients will also attend a group nutrition session (date to be announced) to review the dietary plan that has been created by Sandra and Doug to help you get leaner.

Fit 40+ and Fabulous is not suitable for clients who Follow a vegetarian diet (you would require a private session with our Personal Nutrition Consultant) or for clients who currently have or have had had an eating disorder.

How do I register?

Classes will be filled on a first response basis. Once we have received your completed registration package (forms and payment), we will notify you once your registration has been received. At this time, we will also let you know if there is space in the class you have requested.

We’re weighing in, and it’s not always a good thing. When the scale says we haven’t lost weight, we cut calories.
